If you’d like to reduce your alcohol intake but just don’t know how, why not give non-alcoholic wines a go? Sommelier extraordinaire - aka Forever Strong client Rachael Germano – has done the legwork for us and tried out a few.
Here are her findings:
- Edenvale Sparkling Brut Cuvee is lovely for white wine drinkers, and could easily pass for a light champagne. At $8.00 a bottle, (at Dan Murphy’s) it’s a lifesaver!
- For those who prefer their sparkling with a bit more of a kick, Maggie Beer’s Sparkling Ruby Cabernet is another very palatable non-alc wine. About $12 at Dan’s.
- Clayton’s Kola Tonic has gotten me through the scotch & coke cravings (and at $8.49 per bottle, has saved me a packet!)
- So far, the tastiest red wines I’ve been able to snare have been the ‘Fre’ Merlot and Loxton Cabernet Sauvignon available from NonAlcWines.com.au. Delivery is quick, I ordered on the Sunday, and had delivery on Wednesday morning after my PT session! Alternatively, you can collect orders from Geelong.
Hope that’s a help, enjoy your reds this weekend! Rachael is a member of the Forever Strong Dry July team.
