I had a black dog…

I had a black dog, his name was depression.

I recently came across this insightful video from the World Health Organisation (WHO). WHO is the directing and coordinating authority for health within the United Nations system, providing leadership on global health matters. The video deals with depression and articulates it well for those who have never experienced the illness, while explaining what can be done to recover from it.

We are often saturated with information on the physical aspect of health, to the detriment of ignoring the other aspects of health: social, spiritual, emotional and mental. It is so important to understand how all of these domains overlap to affect our overall well-being, for example, cardiovascular disease can lead to depression.

Perhaps it’s time to think about your overall well-being?
